“Moonstar”
was captured during a full moon rise, one of those nights when I just
couldn’t resist chasing moonlight. To create this dramatic starburst effect,
I used an 8-point star filter over my lens—an old trick in the photography
world that adds a magical, prismatic flare to bright light sources. The
silhouette of the forest sets the perfect stage for the glowing burst of
lunar brilliance. As a self-proclaimed moon junkie, you can bet that anytime
the moon is near full, I’m probably out somewhere getting my moontan—this
night was one of those unforgettable ones.
